Solid Food Tid-Bits

1. Rice cereal is a good choice for a baby's first solid food, but you can also choose pureed meat which is a great source of iron and other nutrients.

2. A 7-month-old should be eating 4 oz. of solid food at each of their three daily meals.

3. When a 1-year-old starts playing with his food instead of eating it, it means they are full.

4. Many parents think that if you give babies pureed fruits first, they'll never eat vegetables, which are less sweet. But experts say the order of introduction doesn't matter; instead, just encourage variety.
